AMU expels 22 students for violence on campus

New Delhi, Jan 4 (UNI) The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) today said it has expelled 22 students and imposed fine on seven others for violence and arson that rocked the campus about three months ago.

In a statement, Assistant Public Relations Officer Zeeshan Ahmad said the University has revoked the suspension of two students.

On the recommendations of the Discipline Committee, he said the Vice Chancellor expelled seven students for five years, eight for three years and five for two years from the rolls of the University.

The University has imposed a fine ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 25,000 each on seven students, Mr Ahmad added.
