5 adulterated ghee units busted, 7 arrested
Lucknow, Jan 4 (UNI) The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Uttar Pradesh police today unearthed five adulterated ghee factories in Phaphamau area of Allahabad district.
About 25,000 kg ghee was also seized and seven people arrested, police said here.
On a tip-off, cops swooped upon the accused and made the seizure.
On interrogation, Tuntun of Manair area in Patna confessed to the crime, saying he had been in the illicit trade for the last five years.
The gang used to operate mainly in Allahabad and the adjoining areas.
Meanwhile, the ghee samples have been sent for examination.
