Star couple becomes proud parents

Chennai, Jan 3 (UNI) Popular Kollywood actor Ajith, on cloud nine after the success of ''Billa,'' a remake of 1980s Rajni starrer film, got reasons to cheer when he became a proud father today.

His actress-wife Shalini gave birth to a baby girl at a private hospital in the wee hours through caesarian.

Both the mother and new born were in good health, hospital sources said.

Ajith celebrated it by distributing sweets to family members and friends.

The celebrated star-couple, fell in love with each other while shooting for the film ''Amarkalam,'' and entered into wedlock in April 2000.
