'Releasing jail birds forcefully, challenge to law and order'
Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 3 (UNI) Condemning the alleged forceful release of an accused by CPI(M) leaders from the Kuttiyadi police station last night, Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly Oommen Chandy today said it was a challenge to the Government's prime duty of ensuring law and order in the State.
In a statement here, he alleged that as the Government had failed to take legal action against those who had challenged law and order in the past, similar incidents were recurring in the State.
After the Left Democratic Front (LDF) came to power in the State, CPI(M) workers had attacked several police stations and forcefully released culprits, he alleged.
