Petition on Centre's notification on palm oil filed in HC

Kochi, Jan 3 (UNI) A petition was filed in the Kerala ing import of palmoil through any part of the state.

Parrisons Food Pvt Ltd, in its petition contended that the notification dated January 24, 2007 was a modification of an earlier notification prohibiting import of palm oil through Kochi port.

As foreign trade policy itself did not prohibit import of palm oil and other items into the country, the Centre's notification prohibiting import of palm oil was illegal, the petitioner contended.
