ONGC' project registered with UN body

New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) today said its Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) has been registered with the United Nations Framework Convention for Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Prior to this, two of the projects have already been registered with UNFCCC, a statement said.

The first project ''Waste Heat Recovery and using the recovere heat for heating oil'' at MS platform in Mumbai High invovles recovery of heat from the exhaust of the process gas compressors and using the heat for heating process oil. This was registered with UNFCCC on February 5, 2007.

The second project 'Upgradation of Gas Turbine 1 (GT 1) and Gas Turbine 2 (GT 2) at co-generation plant of Hazira Gas Processing Complex (HGPC)' involving more efficient energy usage by the turbines through retro fitting and qualifies for a CDM project under energy efficiency category, got registered on March 1, 2007.
