NIIT to conduct NITAT '08 on Jan 20

Mumbai, Jan 3 (UNI) The fourth National IT Aptitude Test (NITAT) 2008 will be conducted by NIIT simultaneously in over 160 cities, across the country, on January 20.

Interested candidates can register on-line at www.niiteducation.com/NITAT or visit the nearest NIIT centre.

The test will check the potential and aptitude of students and graduates for a career in the IT industry. A list of 'Promising IT Professionals of the Future', including candidates achieving 'Very High' or 'High IT Aptitude', will be announced by NIIT and made available on www.niiteducation.com/NITAT for prospective employers including leading technology companies, a release stated.

NIIT will also award special recognition certificates to merit list candidates and invite them to a special ''Placement Fair'' at key locations, across the country.

According to NASSCOM, there will be a demand for 8,50,000 software professionals and 1.4 million ITES-BPO professionals by 2010, along with a demand for 3,00,000 digital media professionals by end of 2008.

NITAT has already tested over 1,70,000 candidates, till date, the release added.
