AIADMK, PMC members stage walk out

Puducherry, Jan 3 (UNI) Members of the Opposition AIADMK and Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) today staged a walk out in the Puducherry Assembly to protest the alleged failure of Speaker R Radhakrishnan in allowing their calling attention motion.

As soon as Chief Minister N Rangasamy stood up to table certain papers, Mr Anbazhagan started arguing with the Speaker, stating that the calling attention motion on law and order situation and the rain damages in Karaikal be allowed.

The AIADMK members were later joined by the PMC members.

Mr Radhakrishnan clarified that besides Mr Anbazhagan, PMK member Anantharaman had also given a calling attention motion and it could not be taken today due to paucity of time, since the members had given the calling attention motion only last evening.

As the members continued to argue, the Speaker informed them that he would get a relevant reply from the minister concerned.

However, undisturbed by the noisy scenes, the Chief Minister continued his speech and tabled certain documents.

As the Speaker did not change his stance despite their argument, the members staged a walk out.
