ZP CEO Rajurkar charged with caste atrocity

Nashik, Jan 2 (UNI) A case has been registered here against the Nasik Zilla Parishad CEO Dnyaneshwar Rajurkar on charges of caste atrocity.

Sources said a case has been registered yesterday against Rajurkar under sections 426 and 500 of the IPC and sections 3(8),(9) of the Scheduled Caste/Tribes Atrocity (prevention) Act, on a complaint lodged by Gautam Sukhdeo Wagh, resident of Dugao village in Nashik taluka of the district.

According to the complaint, Mr Rajurkar allegedly suspended Wagh, a driver in the Zilla Parishad thereby preventing him from working. Mr Rajurkar along with another employee Mr Apsund also abused Wagh about his caste.

Wagh had lodged a complaint with Chief Judicial Magistrate Ashutosh Karmarkar here on September 20, 2007. Following this, the court issued an order, according to which the Bhadrakali police registered the case.
