Vehicle campaign for Mumbai-Kanniyakumari corridor
Kottayam, Jan 2 (UNI) Kerala Congress leader P J Joseph today said a vehicle campaign from Mumbai to Kanniyakumari in support of the demand for a dedicated passenger corridor on the route would be organised from January 12 to 31.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the Union Government should take steps for the time-bound completion of irrigation projects.
He emphasised the need for giving more importance to agriculture in order to ensure food security.
Mr Joseph also emphasised the need for implementing rainwater harvesting on a large scale for resolving the drinking water crisis and water shortage for irrigation.
He appealed to the State Government to hold discussions with those concerned to ban sand mining and save rivers.
