Vegetable vendors statue unveiled by Uddhav Thackeray

Mumbai, Jan 2 (UNI) A vegetable vendor's statue was unveiled today by the executive president of Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray, as a mark of appreciation for the contributions made by the common man in making the city.

The statue was unveiled at Dadar, in Central Mumbai opposite Plaza Theatre, which is one of the biggest wholesale market for vegetables in the city.

Sources said that Brihanmumbai is also planning to erect many more such type of statues, depicting the contributions made by a common man. Statues of milk man, mill worker and others will be erected in varous parts of the city.

Mr Thackeray, after unveiling the statue said that the statues of common man are important for the city, as they constitute a big percentage of the city's population.
