Nonavinakere Mutt seer passes away
Bangalore, Jan 2 (UNI) Kadasiddeswara Swamiji (98), senior Pontiff of Nonavinakere Mutt in Turuvekere taluk in Hassan district of Karnataka, died of old age, this evening.
The seer breathed his last at 1735 hrs in the Mutt.
His mortal remains would be buried in the Mutt tomorrow, Mutt sources told UNI.
Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna, Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh, former Karnataka Ministers D K Shivakumar and V Somanna were among the frequent visitors at the Mutt.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, immediately after taking over the reigns of the state in 2006, had visited the Mutt and taken the blessings of the senior pontiff.
