New legislation to check food adulteration
Mumbai, Jan 2 (UNI) The Maharashtra government is considering a new legislation to check the menace of food adulteration in the State.
Speaking Dairy Development Secretary S V R Sriniwas said today on 'Jai Maharashtra programme' on regional Doordarshan, said the Government is quite serious about tackling the increasing cases of milk adulteration.
Checking such adulterataion is in the best interest of both the dairy farmers as well as the consumer, Mr Srinivas added.
Srinivas said in the proposed law, adulteration will become a non-bailable offence.
