Major fire at Indo Rama Synthetics near Nagpur
Nagpur, Jan 2 (UNI) A major fire broke out today at the plant of Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Limited (IRSL) near here.
The Chemical Section of the plant at Butibori was gutted this evening, a company spokesman told UNI.
The cause of the fire was not yet known and there was no report of any loss of life, he said.
Fire tenders were rushed to the plant from Butibori as well as Nagpur, the spokesman said.
Firemen were still fighting the blaze, he said adding the extent of damage was not immediately known.
IRSL has a six lakh tonnes per annum (tpa) plant at Butibori, which is an integrated manufacturing complex producing Polyester Staple Fibre (PSF), Partially Oriented Yarn (POY), Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY) and Textured Yarn, besides fibre grade chips.
