Home Minister condemns misbehaviour with foreign woman tourist

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 2 (UNI) Condemning the misbehaviour against a woman foreign tourist by New Year revellers on the Fort Cochin beach on the midnight of December 31, Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today said necessary steps would be taken to check such incidents in future.

Talking to UNI, he said a 17-year-old boy had been arrested for misbehaving with a Swedish girl on the Fort Cochin beach on New Year eve.

''Such incidents should not happen in our state,'' Mr Balakrishnan said.

Even though no formal complaints had been received from the offended, the police took action immediately, the Home Minister said and added that more police personnel would be deployed on such occasions to provide added protection to foreigners.
