Gen Motors achieves a record 68 pc growth

high

the
launch
of
the
Chevrolet
Spark
and
other
new
models,
General
Motors
India
witnessed
a
record
growth,
selling
60,032
units
in
the
calendar
year
2007,
as
against
35,823
units
during
2006,
an
astounding
annual
growth
figure
of
68
per
cent.
A company release said during December 2007, General Motors India registered a record growth of 144 per cent in sales as compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 6,309 units in December 2007 alone as against 2,583 units in December last year, making it the highest-ever monthly sales achieved by the company since its inception. The December 2007 sales comprise 2,179 units of the Chevrolet Tavera, 1,800 units of the Chevrolet Aveo, 822 units of the Chevrolet Optra and 1,508 units of the Chevrolet Spark, a car that very recently received the Business Standard Motoring Best Value 2007 award.
