Five militant attacks in a week in Tripura
Agartala, Jan 2 (UNI) As many as five insurgency-related incidents were reported from different locations in Tripura during the past one week, ahead of the Assembly elections, police said here today.
A group of unknown miscreants, equipped with country-made guns, opened fire in the Debendrapara forest under Ompi police station in South Tripura, injuring one Rabijoy Reang (22) yesterday, police said.
In a seperate incident, a group of suspected NLFT (BM) and BNCT extremists abducted one Madhu Tripura (35) from Dhananjoypara under Gandacherra police station last evening.
Meanwhile, police arrested three people in connection with the murder of veteran communist leader Chandramohan Debbarma on December 30.
