Farmers observe ''Rasta Roko'' in Yeola

Nashik, Jan 2 (UNI) Angry over the fall in onion prices, farmers in Yeola taluka of the district resorted to a ''Rasta Roko'' today.

The agitation was held on the Yeola-Vinchar road square and was led by Shiv Sena Yeola taluka chief Jayant Dinge.

Minimum support price and regularisation of electricity in the taluka were the main demands of the farmers. The increasing flow of onions in the market and non-availability of sufficient wagons for transport of the commodity are reasons for fall in onion prices.

Due to the non-availability of wagons, traders at the Manmad Agricultural Market Committee are not buying onions and due to this auction of onions did not take place.
