Ex-UP minister's car searched, fined
Lucknow, Jan 2 (UNI) The red-beacon car of senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and former Uttar Pradesh urban development minister Mohd Azam Khan was searched and fined in Chajlate area of Moradabad district.
Irked over the incident, Mohd Khan and his supporters staged a 'dharna' in front of the Chajlate police station. They ended their protest after senior officials intervened.
After the terrorist attack on CRPF camp in Rampur district yesterday, an intensive checking drive had been started, Special Secretary (home) J K Tondon said here this evening.
His car was checked yesterday and fined, since he was entitled for the red-beacon and tinted windows.
Meanwhile, senior SP leader Ahmad Hasan criticised the police for ''misbehaving'' with Mohd Khan.
''Its a conspiracy to maglign the image of the SP leader,'' he alleged.
