Dr Subas Pani, Dr Rita Sharma appointed Secretaries

New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) The Government today announced the appointment of Dr Subas Chandra Pani and Dr Rita Sharma as Secretary in the Planning Commission and Ministry of Rural Development respectively.

Simultaneously, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet upgraded 30 officers from different ranks and departments in their present posts, an official release here today said.

Dr Subas Chandra Pani, IAS (OR:72), presently Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development, will hold the post of Secretary in the Planning Commission in place of Mr Rajeeva Ratan Shah, IAS (UP:67) who has superannuated.

The appointment is effective from the date Mr Shah demits office, the release added.

His post will be filled by Dr Rita Sharma, IAS (UP:74), currently Additional Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture.

The committee has approved the following appointments, by in-situ upgradation of the officers in their present posts, effective from the date of appointment of Dr Rita Sharma.
