City temperatures remain more pleasant than terai
Kolkata, Jan 2 (UNI) Siliguri, the commercial town of North Bengal today witnessed a bit warmer day than the capital of West Bengal, Kolkata, with temperture reaching to 27.1 degrees Celsius.
Alipore Met officials said that the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 24.9 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal, and the minimum was at 11.8 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal.
North Bengal University sources said that Siliguri, being close to eastern himalayan range, had 11.4 degrees Celsius, a bit warmer day than previous days.
Humidity level was high all over the state, with the mountains experiencing a maximum relative humidity of 98 per cent and the city recording 90 per cent for the same.
Mornings will remain misty in general giving rise to warmer days with clear sky. The minimum temperature will not exceed beyond 13 degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours, Met officials added.
