Awadh University registrar, 4 others suspended

Lucknow, Jan 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today suspended the registrar and the controller of examinations of the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University, Faizabad and three others for financial irregularities.

Besides, orders were also issued for registering cases against them.

Official sources said registrar B R Kanaujia, controller of examinations Akhilesh Chandra, proctor Ajay Pratap Singh, assistant engineer S K Mishra and librarian R K Singh.

A probe was conducted by Lucknow divisional commissioner Vijay Shankar Pandey against then VC S B Singh for financial irregularities and other complaints.

Mr Singh has since retired.
