Adampur shivers at -2.6 degrees celsius in Punjab
Jalandhar, Jan 2 (UNI) Adampur airbase, near here, at minus 2.6 degrees celsius turned out to be the coldest place in Punjab partially followed by Amritsar and Halwara near Ludhiana.
According to Defence spokesperson Naresh Vig, Adampur continuously recorded sub-zero temperature for the last six days.
The minimum plunged to minus 1.0 degrees celsius in the holy city of Amritsar as well as Halwara airbase, near Ludhiana.
The border town of Pathankot recorded a low of 2.6 degrees and Bathinda 2.0 degrees celsius.
The minimum temperature further dropped to 2.4 degrees celsius in Chandigarh, while in adjoining Haryana, the temperature fell to minus 0.2 degree celsius at Ambala.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar and Avantipura plummeted to minus 9.8 and minus 9.6 degrees celsius respectively. Jammu recorded the minimum at 3.6 degrees celsius and in Udhampur it dipped to minus 2.0 degrees celsius.
For the next 24 hours, the weather office has predicted fog, mist and haze in the morning and clear to partly cloudy sky during day.
