13 wagons derailed, rail traffic affected

Sagar, MP, Jan 2 (UNI) Railway traffic was badly affected following derailment of 13 coal-laden wagons of a goods train along down-track at Majhgawan station on Bina-Sagar-Katni section of West Central Railway near here today.

Railway sources said the trains for Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi and Jaipur were delayed by 12 hours. Some other trains were cancelled, while a few trains were sent from diverted route.

Rail administration had started steps to restore normal traffic, which was expected to be restored tonight. Arrangements were being made to send passengers by bus or other means to their destinations.
