Six criminals held in Uttar Pradesh

Police
today
claimed
to
have
arrested
six
members
of
a
notorious
inter-district
gang
and
seized
pistols,
cartridges
and
valuables
from
their
possession
in
Khuthan
area
here.
On a tip off, police cordoned off Suighankhurd village and nabbed the criminals during an encounter late yesterday, Superintendent of Police Lalji Shukla said.
The arrested have been identified as Avinash alias Sindhu, Baccha Yadav alias Vinod, Chandrasen Yadav alias Tikku, Shyam Kanhaiya, Santosh Kumar Prajapati and Rajan Kanaujia.
Two of their aides, however, managed to escape, the SP added. Six pistols, three cartridges, valaubles, cash and cell phones had been seized from the arrested members of the gang, who were active in several districts, including Azamgarh, Ambedkarnagar, Sultanpir and Jaunpur.
Meanwhile, a reward of Rs 5,000 had been announced to the winning police team.
