MP town peaceful

Dewas, MP, Jan 1 (UNI) Two youths have been taken into custody for questioning at this district headquarters where prohibitory orders were imposed after stone-pelting and damage to property following a former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh pracharak's murder.

''The district is peaceful,'' Superintendent of Police I P Kulshresht said today.

Sunil Joshi was murdered here on Saturday. Some shops and vehicles were damaged the next day.

Some weapons were seized on the basis of details supplied by the youths who were also being questioned regarding the shooting at nearby Sutarkhedi village where prohibitory orders were imposed after four people were targeted resulting in one fatality. Collector Navneet Mohan Kothari ordered suspension of all weapons' licenses in Vijaymandi area. Weapons have to be deposited forthwith at police stations.
