Hunger claims 3 lives in Mahoba

Mahoba, Jan 1 (UNI) Three people reportedly died of hunger in drought-hit Bundelkhand region in the last 24 hours.

According to sources, Dasiya Ahirwar of Gandhinagar died early this morning.

In another incident, Sirya of Gyodi village and Kunja Ahirwar of Chandauli village, both labourers, died yesterday due to hunger.

Families of the deceased had stated starvation as the reason behind the death.

Additional District Magistrate N N Lal declined to confirm these cases as hunger deaths, although he had ordered inquiry into the death of a labourer at Chandauli village.
