Fire in private building in Shimla town

Shimla, Jan 1 (UNI) A two-storey private building was gutted in a fire in the state capital today though no loss of life of reported in the incident, police said.

The cause of the fire was, however, not immediately known, but it caused two gas cylinder blasts in the building that was completely burnt in the incident.

The police said no loss of life was reported in the fire, which began at about 1745 hrs.

The fire personnel battled with fierce flames for over an hour minutes before bringing it under control only by 1930 hrs, the police said.

It said the loss due to fire was being ascertained, adding that a case has been registered and investiogations are on.
