Excise Dept CI killed in mishap

Vijayawada, Jan 1 (UNI) A Circle Inspector of the Excise Department was killed and his driver injured when the car in which they were travelling hit a lorry at Kanchikacharla National Highway in Krishna District today.

Police said Rambabu (50) was on his way to Hyderabad from Tanuku in West Godavari District when the mishap occurred. The body was taken to Nandigama Hospital here for post-mortem.

The driver was admitted to the Government General Hospital here in a critical condition. The lorry driver was absconding, police added.
