Dharam announces Kharge as Cong's CM candidate

Bangalore, Jan 1 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh today announced Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the coming Assembly elections.

Mr Singh told reporters here that the party would contest the coming Assembly elections with Mr Kharge as Chief Minister candidate.

This statement was against the earlier opinion expressed by senior leaders that the party worked on collective leadership basis.

The party high command would take a decision soon regarding Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna's return to active politics in the state, he said.
