BJP demands removal of Mr Patil from Council Opposition Leader post

Bangalore, Jan 1 (UNI) BJP Karnataka unit today demanded Legislative Council Chairman B K Chandrasekhar to remove Leader of Opposition H K Patil from the post immediately.

In a memorandum submitted to the Chairman, copy of which was released to the press here, the party threatened to launch dharna if there was any delay in removing Mr Patil from the post and withdraw government facilities extended to him.

"It was illegal for Mr Patil to continue in the post even after 45 days of the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly and imposition of President's rule in the state," BJP alleged in the memorandum.

The delegation was led by former MLA C T Ravi.
