2 held for accepting bribe

Mumbai, Jan 1 (UNI) Two persons, including a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation employee, were arrested by the Anti - Corruption Bureau (ACB) at Matunga in north-central Mumbai for allegedly accepting bribe from a person to enroll his name in the voters list.

Investigating Officer C D Bangar said two persons -- Navnath Mane, a BMC peon posted on deputation at election office, and Vijay Shivaji Jadhav, appointed on contract basis for election duty at Matunga Office -- demanded Rs 400 to enroll the complainant's name in the voters list.

The complainant agreed to pay the amount and simultaneously lodged a complaint with the ACB.

After verifying the complaint, yesterday at around 1315 hrs, the ACB sleuths laid a trap and arrested the two accused red-handed, he added.
