Russia calls on Kenyan political forces to end violence

Moscow, Dec 31 (UNI) Russia today called on political forces in Kenya to end violence that broke out after the disputed December 27 presidential election.

''Moscow is following the developments in Kenya and hopes political forces in the country will show restraint and readiness to resolve problems in accordance with the Constitution,'' the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The violence has killed dozens of people since Saturday across the east African state as armed police have been trying to contain protesters in Nairobi's slums.
