President greets people on new year eve

Hyderabad, Dec 31 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil today greeted the nation on the New Year eve from Rashtrapati Nilayam at Secunderabad, where she is currently staying.

In a message here, the President said, ''As the sun rises over 2008, may the New Year bring peace, prosperity and happiness to everyone.

In the New Year let us all strive to work for the betterment of the nation and do our best in making the world a better place by helping the underprivileged and the needy''.
