Person impersonating as policeman arrested

New Delhi, Dec 31 (UNI) The Delhi police have arrested a person impersonating as a policeman and duping several people of thousands of rupees on the pretext of arranging for them to buy seized vehicles by the police meant for auction.

Ashwini Sisodiya was arrested following a complaint by one Jawahar Singh that the accused had duped him of Rs 30000 on pretext of arranging for him an Indica during an auction of seized vehicles at Ashok Vihar police station.

Interrogation of Ashwini, a resident of Basti in UP who shifted in Delhi four years ago, revealed that he had duped several persons earlier after promising them that he would arrange for them vehicles on cheaper rates in auction of seized vehicles in various police stations.

Search of his house revealed from his possession a police constable's uniform.
