Maximum and minimum temperatures nosedive in Kolkata

Kolkata, Dec 31 (UNI) The city and its adjoining areas today experienced chilly weather as the maximum and minimum temperatures plumetted significantly below the normal level.

The Alipore Met office recorded the maximum temperature of the day at 24.5 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal while the minimum temperature was 11.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal.

The maximum relative humidity was pegged at 88 per cent.

Met officials forecast foggy conditions in the morning and the sky remaining clear for the rest of the day, with the minimum temperature hovering around 11 degrees Celsius.
