Maintenance aid for orphans, destitute raised
Chandigarh, Dec 31 (UNI) The Haryana government has enhanced the maintenance assistance being given to voluntary organisations to look after destitute and orphan children from Rs 450 to Rs 600 per child per month.
Also, financial assistance admissible to destitute children has been raised to Rs 100 from Rs 30 per child per month.
This was stated by Member Parliament from Rohtak Deepender Singh Hooda while addressing a large gathering after laying the foundation stone of Maharishi Atri Dharamshala in Rohtak last evening. The function was organised by All India Maharishi Atri Dharmarth Trust.
He said India had emerged as a "dharam guru" in the world and whenever there had been a situation of conflict, India showed the way with its wisdom.
He said Maharishi Attri too had shared his knowledge as well as religious discourses with the people and he had inspired many great saints.
Mr Hooda announced to give Rs five lakh for the construction of Dharamshala.
The President of Maharishi Atri Dharmarth Trust, Mr Ramkaran Atri presented a turban to Mr Hooda as a mark of respect.
