Land distributed among poor in past 2 yrs
Samastipur, Dec 31 (UNI) Strictly pursuing the spirit of land reforms initiated by Acharya Vinoba Bhave through ''Bhoodan Andolan'', the Bihar government had distributed 2.53 lakh acres of land among the poor during the last two years.
State Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Rameswar Thakur today told reporters here that Bihar government was committed to implementing the various provisions of the relevant acts aimed at achieving the desired results in land reforms sector.
''During the last two years, Bihar government had distributed 2.53 lakh acres of land among the poor,'' he said, adding that one lakh acres of land would be distributed among the landless people next year.
''About 54 cases of land disputes, relating to violation of land ceiling act were disposed off during the last year,'' Mr Thakur said and added that special camps would be organised on January 7-8 in next year through -out the state to settle the land related disputes.
