JPP vows to create greater Jharkhand on its foundation day

Jamshedpur, Dec 31 (UNI) The Jharkhand People's Party (JPP) today vowed to create a greater Jharkhand comprising tribal-dominated districts of Orissa, West Bengal and Chhatisgarh and decided to launch a renewed agitional programmes from new year.

Talking to mediapersons on the occasion of the JPP's foundation day here, party president Surya Singh Besra said the present Jharkhand state, which was formed curving out from Bihar, had failed to fulfill the aspirations of the adivasis and creation of a greater Jharkhand under the Constitutional provision of Article 3-A would be the only solution for the uplift of the adivasis in the region.

He said at the present political scenario,formation of a third front sans UPA and NDA was the need of the hour.''Both the NDA and the UPA had ruled the state in the last seven years but they failed miserably in all fronts.An alternative political force can only resolve the crisis and give a stable government in Jharkhand.'' Mr Besra,a former MLA observed.

He said talks were on with Jharkhand Vikash Dal,Jharkhand Lok Morcha, Jana Morcha and Naren and Horo factions of Jharkhand Party along with the JPP to give shape to a third front in Jharkhand.

Mr Besra said 2008 would be a year of struggle for JPP and apart from the agitation for greater Jharkhand, the JPP would also launch agitation ''Bhrashtrachar Meetao,Madhu Koda Ko Hatao'' to dethrone the ''corrupt'' UPA government in the state.
