Bangalore, Dec 31 (UNI) The Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) here will telecast a new distance education programme titled 'Deevige' for the benefit of Pre-University and Standard XII students appearing for Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to professional colleges, DDK Senior Director Mahesh Joshi said today.

Addressing the press here, Mr Joshi said last year the Kendra had successfully brought out similar programme titled 'CET Chanakya' meant for Pre-University students.

On 'Deevige,' Mr Joshi said, the 36-episode programme will benefit students appearing for CET and AIEEE examinations.

The programme has been designed taking into consideration students in rural and remote areas who could not get any coaching for CET.

''Last year, 'CET Chanakya' received overwhelming response and had to be telecast twice a week,'' he added.

'Deevige' has been designed in a more student-friendly way using animation and graphics to help students understand Mathematics problems in a better and simple way.

''Deevige'' Producer Shobha V Ramaiah said they had also come out with a Compact Disk comprising 40 episodes of 'CET Chanakya'.''An average of over one lakh students benefited from it,'' she claimed.
