Vijayawada, Dec 31 (UNI) Krishna District Collector Navin Mittal today announced that a reward of Rs.1,000 would be given to those who rescue children below the age of 14, engaged in domestic works and agricultural fields.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the amount would be given to the person after recovering from those who employ children for work.
He said the district administration had taken the help of Education, Labour, Women and Child Welfare Departments and NGOs to weed out child labour.
The rescued children would be rehabiliated under the NCLP,he said adding more than 14,000 children were rescued by the administration during the last two years.
The National Rural Employement Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) would be launched in Krishna District from April one, he said, adding that process was on for issuing job cards in rural areas and the payment of wages would be done through post offices.
