Boy killed, 7 injured in road accidents

Akola, Dec 31 (UNI) A seven-year-old boy was killed and seven others injured in three separate road accidents in the city today.

In the first incident, a boy was crushed to death when a motorcycle dashed into a truck at Akola-Akot road.

The deceased, Rhutik Mahadeo Nikame, was riding on the motorcycle with his father when the mishap took place.

In the second incident, Assistant Sub inspector and bodyguard of District collector Keshav Zope (50) was injured when he was hit by a speeding truck near Hutatma Square in the city.

In the third incident, five women and a man were injured when a city bus rammed into the auto in which they were travelling at Yugandhar Square on Dabki road. Later, an agitated mob pelted stones on the bus, police said.

In another incident that took place last night near Ashok Watika in the city, one person was knocked down by a speeding motorcycle. He is being treated at the general hospital, police said.
