2 cops held for extortion in UP capital

Lucknow, Dec 31 (UNI) Two policemen were today arrested after being caught red-handed extorting money from a driver in Talkatora area of the capital.

Uma Shankar and Sadhu Nath Sharan Arya -- deployed on mobile duty -- demanded cash from driver of a tractor-trolley, en route from Uannao to Lucknow, under Talkatora police station area.

Incidentally, the duo were caught red-handed by the Unnao police circle officer, who was travelling in the same vehicle.

The accused have been sent to jail, police said.

UNI
