UCO Bank to open 65 new branches next week

Jaipur, Dec 30 (UNI) UCO Bank will open 65 new branches in the country on January 6 next to mark its 65th foundation day.

This will take the total number of branches over 2000, said, General Secretary, All India UCO Bank Officers' Association S Roy Choudhury.

Talking to UNI here today Mr Choudhury said that the bank management and employees would celebrate the 65th foundation day in a big way by holding programmes throughtout the country.

On the bank's ongoing functional strategy, he said that the bank had launched a mass business campaign aiming at extending banking services to down trodden and common masses.

The bank has also been deicded to set up exclusive Senior Citizen Domains in its major branches to provided faster and smooth services to senior citizens. First of these domains had already been inaugurated in Kolkata.

Expressing his satisfaction over the general workmen-managment relation in the bank, Mr Choudhury said that this had enabled the bank to get rid off crisis faced by it earlier and march ahead in the new era of inclusive growth.

He said that presently the bank had not only wiped off its peristent losses but had also geared itself well to face the challenges of futuristic banking.

The bank had closed 2006-2007 fiscal year with a profit to the tune of Rs 300 crore and was set to record a rise in profit during the current fiscal.

Mr Choudhury was in the town to participate in the 4th Triennial Conference of the association's Rajasthan state Chapter here today.
