Guwahati, Dec 30 (UNI) In yet another strike in Guwahati, suspected ULFA rebels today exploded a grenade targetting CRPF at the Athgaon area of the city, injuring three civilians.
Police said two ULFA rebels whizzed past the area on a motorcycle after hurling the grenade in front of a tea stall where some CRPF jawans were standing at around 1930 hours.
While the jawans, who were the main targets of the rebels, escaped unhurt, but the tea stall owner and two other sustained critical injuries.
Injured persons hailed from Hojai in Nagaon district, were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Police reinforcements led by top officials rushed to the spot and cordonned off the area.
