Surrendred ULFA militant shot at

Guwahati, Dec 30 (UNI) A surrendered ULFA (SULFA) cadre was shot at by unknown assailants in Assam's Nalbari district today. Police sources informed that the incident occurred at Khatikuchi chowk at about 1130 hrs.

SULFA Bijoy Shankar Hazarika and his wife Anita were on their way to Nalabari from Ghograpa when the assailants opened fire at them from behind.

Anita succumbed to bullet injuries on the spot, while Hazarika was rushed to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital in a serious condition, with multiple bullet injuries, police added. Police has launched an investigation to identify the assailants.
