Six dead, 3 injured in accidents in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Dec 30 (UNI) Six people were killed and three others injured seriously in four accidents reported in Kolhapur district.

Police said today, that two persons were killed when the vehicle in which they were travelling to Pune from Banglore dashed against a water taker near Mangarayachiwadi village on Pune-Bangalore national highway.

In another incident, two youths died on the spot while one seriously injured when a moped in which they were riding hit a tanker near Naisingpur town in Shirol Tehsil.

In the third accident, a 45-year-old man was crushed to death in a sugarcane crushing machine at Alaway in Panhala Tehsil.

In yet another incident, a youth from Shirol Tehsil died on the spot and two others injured seriously when a tractor turned turtile on Kolhapur-Hupari road. The injured have been hospitalised yesterday, police added.
