MP docs to get hefty allowance

Bhopal, Dec 30 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Ajay Vishnoi today said that governemnt doctors posted in the state's virtually inaccessible areas would receive an allowance of Rs 10,000 and a law enacted soon for physicians' security on the lines of similar legislation in Andhra Pradesh.

''A new medical manual is being prepared to serve as a code of conduct. Rs 80 crore will be spent on building doctors' quarters at community health centre level. Seven hundred ambulances will be provided next year,'' he said while addressing a state-level government doctors' conference at Gandhi Medical College here.

State Medical Education Minister Gaurishankar Shejwar was chief guest.
