Manipur: Man shot at by RPF ultras

Imphal, Dec 30: The Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) cadres shot at and injured a man here yesterday for allegedly smuggling illicit liquor.

Police said here today that the man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared out of danger.

Meanwhile, a truck, carrying illicit liquor, was seized by RPF ultras at Thoubal on December 25.

Manipur is a dry state and the proscribed outfit had banned liquor in the state since 1990.

The youth had allegedly purchased the liquor for Rs 4.25 lakh from Myanmar, police added.
