'Janamaitri' project to be implemented in 14 centres
Kochi, Dec 30 (UNI) Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today said the 'Janamaitri' project under the 'community policing' policy of the government would be implemented in 14 centres in the state by February.
Speaking on the occasion of launching the 'Janabhipraya Survey', organised by the Kerala Police Association here, he said the centres would foster a good relationship between the police and society.
He said the training would be imparted to officials concerned by next month and IG B Sandhya had been appointed as the nodal officer for the project.
Mr Balakrishnan said the police should work in close co-operation with the public to nab criminals and strenghten the intelligence process.
Stating that the state police was one of the best in India, he said the Palakkad South Police Station was adjudged as the best in India and the second best in Asia in a survey conducted recently.
